Cultural Moment
Tonight we watched Joshua Bell perform Brahms with the Oregon Symphony here in Portland. The original program was to be Shostakovich but Bell decided a month ago that no, it should be Brahms. Brahms was good, but the outstanding piece tonight was the last piece performed, the sinfonietta composed by Leos Janacek.
